Island's future sporting hub funded $9.9 million over next decade, but don't hold your breath for pool.

Following lobbying during this year's budget, the Phillip Island Sporting Precinct was allocated $440,000, for planning stage one, which will include detailed designs for a fenced off leash dog park, a football/cricket oval, four netball courts, pathways and parking. The original masterplan for the site said $120 million was needed for 35 projects to be developed over 25-plus years. Council's new 10-year financial plan allocates $9.9 million to the site.
