Wonthaggi Little Athletics make a start
The kids were so excited to be back competing and all enjoying themselves.
Saturday, December 5 saw the start of the Wonthaggi Little Athletics, a little later than in previous years but we had to adhere to all the new rules and regulations surrounding COVID-19.
We had 35 kids participate, and it was great to see so many families, new and returning.
The kids were so excited to be back competing and all enjoying themselves.
There were numerous PB’s across all age groups, however the standout on the day was Laetitia Pugh who broke a centre record in the U16 1500m which has stood since 2013/14 season.
Well done and a huge congratulations Laetitia.
Once competition had finished, we had our outgoing President Luke Ransom and our outgoing Treasurer Janine Wynen present last season trophies for all age group champions and junior and senior champions.
Congratulations to all our 2019/20 recipients and thank-you to Luke and Janine for all your help and support over the previous years.
For any children that are interested in giving athletics a go, there is still plenty of time to register for the season.
We will resume on January 9 and we will run until March 27.
