World Vision earthquake appeal

The Phillip Island World Vision club has raised $5500 for the World Vision Turkiye and Syria Earthquake Appeal.

Members and friends of the club were rostered to collect donations over three weekends in March.

“We are very grateful to Coles in Cowes and IGA in San Remo for permitting us to collect at their premises, and thankful for the community’s generosity,” a club spokesperson said.

Due to the generosity of donors World Vision teams and local partners on the ground are providing life-saving essentials to survivors of this terrible disaster.

So far 19,155 people have received heating supplies, 12,753 people have received ready-to-eat hot meals and 11,985 people have received vouchers to buy food and other essentials.

World Vision has also provided shelter, warmth, first-aid and other disaster related activities.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the Phillip Island World Vision Club’s appeal can make a donation to their bank account: World Vision Australia – Phillip Island Club. BSB 633000   Account 189180375.

Kindly reference any donation ‘Earthquake’, and if you require a receipt email John Hendrie, Treasurer at piworldvision@gmail.com
