Nominations are now open for the 2024 Bass Coast Community Awards which honour outstanding individuals from across our community.

Nominations close on April 18 and the judging panel will then select the winners who will be celebrated at a presentation ceremony on May 30, to align with National Volunteer Week.

Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor Cr Clare Le Serve said the Community Awards has quickly established themselves as a significant celebration on the region's calendar.

"It is important for our community to honour those people who through their hard work and passion are the heart and soul of the region,'' Cr Le Serve said.

"Volunteering is critical to keeping our community running and shows we care for each other."
