A tough game for U14 Red - U14 Red Vs Wonthaggi
The pups had a tough game against Wonthaggi on Sunday
It was a beautiful sunny day with not a breath of wind at the kennel on Sunday as the pups gathered in the clubrooms and awaited their game with Wonthaggi Power, the 14’s were a bit light on players, but they were still determined to get out there and give it their all!
It was Phillip Island’s defence that got tested in the first quarter but Ollie Parsons, Arch Cameron, Jacob Solohub and Jacko Allan doing their best keeping the scores to a minimal.
The pups came back in the second quarter with a push and a shove, with great defence from Teirlin Hamley, Tavish Mahon and Arch with a point kicked for the Red’s.
By half time Wonthaggi were well ahead but this still didn’t defeat our pups as they took on the second half of the game strong continuing their great defence and tackling with mighty power – Jai Larcombe showing Wonthaggi who’s boss!
With the Mercy rule coming into play the pups still scored a great goal from Zane Larsson, playing up and filling in again from U12’s this week.
The final score: Phillip Island Red 1.3(9) to Wonthaggi Power 13.16(94).
