The state government has decided to grant a permit for the proposed battery energy system on Phillip Island.

The state government has issued a Notice of Decision, which could see a permit issued for a battery energy system on Gap Road comprising of a series of units in a 38 x 34 metre fenced compound, connected to the electricity grid via underground cables.
