The community turned out in big numbers to support the San Remo Hotel’s annual Big Freeze on the weekend, raising money for Fight MND.
The event smashed last year’s total, raising over $15,000 for this great cause.
The fundraising kicked off with a Karma Keg on Friday night, which raised $520.
At Sunday’s event, strong community support saw $8500 worth of MND merchandise sold.

The auction, which included a North Melbourne jersey signed by all the players, a cricket bat and a Richmond jersey, raised $1200.
Online donations added $1420 to the total, with the remaining funds raised through raffle tickets for IGA hampers, by sponsoring the dunkers who braved the icy water and a sausage sizzle provided by San Remo Butcher.
The crowd stayed into the evening, entertained by Lunny playing in the sports bar from 5pm.
Thanks to Nici Cahill, Snapshot Photography, who captured all the action.
