Big week on the field for junior Dogs - U12 Red

The Pups travelled to Dalyston on the weekend to take on a determined opposition.

It was a blistering start from the Reds as they broke away from the first ball up and got the ball to Archie Robinson who slotted a great goal from range.

The quick goal seemed to switch Dalyston on, and they went straight into attack mode.

Ben Stephens was having none of it, charging out of defence, clearing the ball and finding teammates through the middle.

Dalyston were playing a hard brand of footy, but our ruckman/sledgehammer Callum Chambers gave the team intensity around the contest, tackling ferociously.

The second quarter was a tough contest, but the Pups were up to it as they focused solely on winning the ball and looking after their teammates.

Aiden Smith played a fantastic quarter and was in and under when needed.

Declan Dickson pounced on a ball in the goal square and made no mistakes, slotting the kick for a major.

The third quarter followed the same theme as the previous two being a tough, physical contest.

The Bulldogs started to move the ball with more accuracy and run, opening the game up and were rewarded for this with goals from Taj Piera and Denver Preddice Firth capping off great games from both boys.

Kolby Carton once again locked down defence aided by Dustin Naismith who also had a great game at full back.

The lights were required for the last quarter as the rain intensified and the cold set in.

The Pups crashed and bashed the packs as their tackling and pressure proved the difference between the two teams.

A great win from the Pups 4.9.33 to Dalyston 0.1.1.
