Boaties query Anderson boat ramp access

Boaties are calling for the Anderson boat ramp to be cleaned more frequently during snapper season.

Last week anglers took to social media to highlight sand accumulation on the ramp, saying it should be cleaned every second day during the peak fishing period.

The upgraded ramp was opened in 2023 when both the State Government and Bass Coast Shire Council acknowledged cleaning would always be required, but the upgraded ramp had less depth of sand drift and coverage.

A council spokesperson said the frequency of cleaning would fluctuate with the dynamic conditions and the ramp would be cleaned as required.

They said the ramp was inspected most days, and "no more than three days apart".
