The Phillip Island bowls club received some high praise recently from the Member for Bass, Jordan Crugnale.

Ms Crugnale was thrilled to be at the final of the corporate bowls competition, singing its praises on her Facebook page.

“I just love, love, Bowls Clubs and all the very fine people that make them rock,” she posted.

“Massive round of applause to the Chair Wayne Barr, George Mole aka the tournament powerhouse extraordinaire and all the fabulous volunteers – where would we be without them?

“Did you know back in 2008 they started a juniors’ program with kids from Cowes Primary? Thanks to the continued tuition and mentoring of John Newcombe and Kevin Wagner the kids are regulars at state championships and they head off this year too.”

Ms Crugnale congratulated this year’s Corporate champs – Victor Bravos, the local Victorian Fisheries Authority team, and runners up Haymes Paint.

“Thanks to all the sponsors of this tournament and the local Businesses that participate,” Ms Crugnale said.

“This club just goes from strength to strength, is super active in bringing community together, they look out for each other and are all heart.”
