Breakers back on the winners list
Final scores: Phillip Island: 4.10.34 def Cerberus-Balnarring: 0.3.3.
At the first centre bounce Sophie McCracken-Evans tapped it straight to Sophie Bolding which set the tone for the match.
However, despite having most of the play in their forward line the Breakers couldn't find a major in the first quarter - scoring four points.
The first goal came in the second through Ella Cargill who was proving dangerous in the forward line.
The Breakers welcomed the inclusion of Siena Lane who brought her bull-like strength to each contest while Juliette Townsend was part of some great link up passages and helped to drive the ball forward.
Tess Wingfield and Molly Conroy also had a big influence on the match with their pressure around the ground.
While coach Ella Angarane was pleased with the teams' efforts in the first half, there was still room to improve and that they did in the third which resulted in three goals for the quarter.
Alannah Greening took advantage of a loose ball in front of goal with a lovely snap.
Tayla Tatterson was finally rewarded for her effort and intensity with a long goal and Ella Cargill added her second.
The opposition's pressure was solid all game and the last quarter was a good tussle with neither team able to score.
With another two new players added to the team, the Breakers enjoyed having a full squad and seeing their team improve in confidence each week as players get a few more games under their belt.
The Breakers have a bye before taking on Mornington in a Friday night clash at Dalyston on May 24, starting at 7pm.
