Bulldogs finish home-and-away season with big win
The Bulldogs made a positive start.
Phillip Island’s senior footballers finished the home-and-away season in strong fashion on Saturday, recording an impressive 61-point win over Garfield,
The Bulldogs made a positive start, kicking six goals in the opening quarter to lead 38–14 at the first change.
Garfield responded in the second term and managed to restrict Phillip Island’s scoring, with the Bulldogs taking a 48–28 advantage into half-time.
Phillip Island then took complete control of the contest after the main break.
A dominant third quarter saw the Bulldogs pile on 46 points while conceding just seven, opening a commanding 94–35 lead heading into the final term.
The visitors continued the job in the last quarter, adding another four goals to run out comfortable winners and round out the regular season on a high.
It was an encouraging all-round performance from the Bulldogs, particularly,
their second-half effort, as they now turn their attention to finals football.
