Phillip Island’s Reserves capped off a brilliant season in emphatic fashion on Saturday, producing a dominant Grand Final performance to defeat Cora Lynn by 53 points.

The Bulldogs were too strong from the outset, setting the tone early and never allowing Cora Lynn to settle into the contest.

Phillip Island led 15–1 at quarter time, extended the margin to 34–2 at the main break, and continued to control the game after half-time.

It was a commanding team performance from a talented young Reserves side, with their pressure, speed and willingness to work for one another evident

across the ground.

By three-quarter time the Bulldogs had opened up a 35-point advantage before finishing strongly to seal a memorable premiership victory.

One of the great strengths of this Reserves group throughout the season has been its depth.

While only 22 players could take the field on Grand Final day, the premiership was built on the contribution of a much larger group.

Competition for positions was incredibly strong, and there were understandably disappointed players who narrowly missed selection for the Grand Final.

Their contribution throughout the season, however, was an important part of getting the team to the biggest day of the year and highlights the exciting depth of young talent coming through at Phillip Island.

ChaCha Fischer capped off an outstanding Grand Final with a superb individual performance, being awarded best on ground, a fitting recognition of his contribution on the day.

The Bulldogs shared the workload across the ground, with plenty of contributors in a performance that underlined just how much talent exists within this young group.

After a season of hard work, competition for spots and strong team football, the Reserves could celebrate together as 2026 West Gippsland Football Netball Competition premiers.

Score:  PI 10.10 (70) def Cora Lynn 2.5 (17).

Best: Cha Cha Fischer
