Phillip Island’s senior side came agonisingly close to taking the points against Tooradin-Dalmore on Saturday, falling by just four points after leading for much of the contest.

The Bulldogs made an impressive start, booting four goals in the opening term to establish a 14-point advantage at quarter time.

They continued to play strong football in the second quarter, adding another four goals and taking a 12-point lead into the main break.

The momentum shifted after half time, with Tooradin- Dalmore producing a big third quarter.

The home side kicked five goals for the term while restricting Phillip Island to two, turning the Bulldogs’ half-time advantage into a seven-point deficit at the final change.

Phillip Island refused to let the game slip away and responded strongly in the last quarter.

The Bulldogs kicked three goals to Tooradin-Dalmore’s two and pushed hard for the win, but ultimately ran out of time.

A frustrating result for the Bulldogs.
