Business Network’s new committee
Phillip Island Business Network committee hosted a morning tea for its new committee members.
The Phillip Island Business Network hosted a morning tea for its new committee members and guests at The Nobbies on November 24. The new committee includes local business operators, as well as representatives from Destination Phillip Island, Bass Coast Shire Council and Phillip Island Nature Parks.
Approximately 30 business owners and operators attended the event, which was sponsored by Phillip Island Nature Parks (a committee member of the Network) and Create Catering, who showcased their culinary skills on the day with an assortment of baked goods, fresh sandwiches, and deserts available for the lucky guests.
President Kimberley Brown thanked guests for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend and noted the great opportunities available to network members to meet one another and establish deeper professional connections.
The network was established in 1989 and today represents 85 Businesses operating in Phillip Island and its surrounds.
It is made up of organisations from sole traders and freelancers, all the way up to the largest employers. The businesses represented are a diverse spread of industries including services, attractions, accommodation, hospitality, retail, and trades.
The Network has employed a Marketing Officer, in a part-time capacity who is able to help coordinate the activities and day-to-day operations of PIBN.
On Friday December 9 PIBN is holding a Christmas Function which all Business Operators are invited to attend.
Jessica Janson, Marketing Officer said: "We know that there are lots of solo operators, or small business teams on the Island that may not be able to enjoy a big end-of-year function - this is a great opportunity for small (and larger) business to jump on board the PIBN Christmas Function and celebrate the year we've had, together".
