There is still time to get your entries in to the Gippsland Food and Fibre Awards

Gippsland food and fibre businesses have until April 14 to submit an entry.

The Gippsland Food and Fibre Awards is a program which showcases the region’s productive agribusiness sector by recognising, celebrating and rewarding outstanding leadership within the food and fibre industry.

Applications across seven categories are invited, with all eligible entries considered for the top award of Gippsland Agribusiness of the Year.

Category awards include innovation, excellence in collaborative partnerships, sustainability, and adaption to change.

Businesses that have provided services to the food and fibre industry are also invited to submit an application, with a category tailored to those who support food and fibre supply and production within Gippsland.

Two premier awards, Female Agribusiness Leader of the Year and Young Agribusiness Leader of the Year, will see prizes awarded to those judged as achieving excellence in their field.

Food & Fibre Gippsland CEO Ben Gebert describes agribusiness as a broad industry which covers the entire value chain, from raw materials and production to marketing and distribution.

"These awards provide an opportunity for the sector to showcase industry excellence, from source to consumer," said Ben.

“Encompassing the whole supply chain, the awards program is an important vehicle for recognising success, sharing achievements, and inspiring others within our region. By showcasing our sector, we create an opportunity to position Gippsland’s food and fibre industry as a key player in both national and international markets.”

"Businesses that contribute to the region’s food and fibre value chain are encouraged to apply."

Information about the awards, including how to apply, can be found on Food & Fibre Gippsland’s website or by contacting Deanne Kennedy via email: deanne@jaydee.net.au or mobile 0419 878 055.
