Celebrating Refugee Week
Phillip Island Rural Australians for Refugees is holding a Soup and Slice lunch, with a short film, at St John's Uniting Church in Cowes, on June 20, at 12.30pm, to celebrate Refugee Week.

Phillip Island Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) will celebrate Refugee Week with a lunch and film on Thursday June 20.

All around the world individuals and families are escaping conflict, death, persecution, famine, drought and floods. What can we do, you may ask?

This little RAR group is part of a network of similar groups around rural and regional Australia involved in fund raising, advocacy and support of refugees already in Australia and those who  are seeking safety in another country.

This year RAR on Phillip Island will hold a Soup and Slice lunch; listen to Julie Watson from Bass Coast Refugee Sponsorship Group; and watch a film they have made entitled "Humanity".

The lunch will be held in St John's Uniting Church, Cowes on June 20, 12pm for 12.30pm. Food donations will be gratefully received and an entry donation.

Please call 0432 163 694 to reserve your place.
