On August 9, Newhaven College Prep students celebrated 100 days of school.
Students and their teachers, Fiona Smart and Linda Austin, got into the spirit of the celebrations arriving at school in their '100' themed costumes. Preps were given the task to decorate their clothes with 100 items. Imaginations ran riot and clothes were adorned with 100s of buttons, ribbons, eyes, tags, bugs, pom poms, beads, gemstones, hearts, lollipops and even 100 layers of clothes.
Dressed in their costumes, the Preps proudly paraded through the Junior School high-fiving Year 1-4 students. Following onto the Middle School, students were greeted by applause and cheers.
As the day progressed, students competed in outdoor activities and completed several literacy and numeracy activities that involved the number 100.
It was a wonderful way to recognise their achievements and make learning fun. As part of the celebration, students enjoyed a dance party and indulged in some all-important fairy bread with 100s and 1000s.
The College said it was very proud of its Prep students, saying they had built strong foundations for their future learning, settled into the school routine extremely well and enjoyed making new friends.
