In 2011 community members successfully lobbied then Planning Minister Matthew Guy to overturn his decision to rezone 24 hectares of Ventnor farmland to residential. In 2012, the Advertiser reported: “The Minister is now being sued by the buyer, on the basis that she proceeded with the purchase of the land only after being assured by the Minister’s office and Planning Department that the rezoning would go ahead.”
