Don’t be Covid complacent
Bass Coast Health CEO Jan Child believes complacency is the biggest Covid risk for the community
Despite concerns about the side effects of the vaccine and issues with the vaccine roll out, Bass Coast Health CEO Jan Child believes complacency is the biggest Covid risk for the community.
Last year, during lockdown and when strict restrictions were in place, she said there were much less instances of cold and flu, but recently those symptoms are showing up again.
“We are starting to see people with cold and flu symptoms and there are some terrible viruses out and about. These are spreading more, because people aren’t wearing masks, they’re not washing their hands and not keeping their distance socially.”
Even though it was no longer mandatory to wear masks in shops, supermarkets and most public spaces, she urged people to continue to wear them and to keep their distance.
“We need to keep practicing good public health.”
