An exchange program between Newhaven College and a Japanese junior high school has resumed after a four-year hiatus.

The college hosted 15 year nine students and two teachers from Ibaraki Christian Junior High School, in Honshu, Japan, for a short-term exchange from July 23 to August 3.

The program brings students together, fostering cross-cultural friendships and promoting mutual understanding, also providing an opportunity for college students studying Japanese to practice their language skills.

During their stay, the Japanese students were welcomed by college homestay families.

In September the exchange program will continue with 16 year 10 and 11 Newhaven College students visiting Ibaraki School, where they will stay with host families.
