Family fun takes centre stage at the Penguin Parade

As the winter chill settles over the Bass Coast, Phillip Island Nature Parks is bringing the fun indoors at the awe-inspiring Penguin Parade Visitor Centre. From midday each day during these Victorian school holidays, the Penguin Parade will come alive with a line-up of activities designed to entertain, inspire, and connect hearts and minds with nature.

In the Penguin Theatre, families can enjoy special screenings of two heartwarming films that celebrate our favourite feathered friends: Happy Feet and the Aussie classic Oddball. It's the perfect chance to slow down, warm up, and enjoy some penguin-themed, popcorn-worthy fun.

For the adventurous, a guided walking tour departs daily at 1.30pm, an opportunity to explore the Summerland Peninsula and learn about the regeneration of this incredible landscape from housing estate to penguin habitat. Spot penguin paths and burrows and hear stories about these remarkable seabirds from the people who know them best.

With free storytelling sessions for little ones, a colouring-in competition, and the rare treat of seeing the Parade open early, families can enjoy a behind-the-scenes feel before the penguins make their evening appearance.

The on-site café and full-service Shearwater Restaurant will be open throughout the day, offering everything from hot chocolates to hearty seasonal meals. Both eco-conscious retail shops will also be open, stocked with thoughtfully curated penguin gifts, art, homewares and keepsakes.

Whether you're a local after a winter outing or a visitor curious about Phillip Island's iconic wildlife, the Penguin Parade is the place to be these school holidays.

Activities run daily during the Victorian School Holidays - Saturday July 5 to Sunday July 20. Free entry and activities. Bookings and costs apply for movie screenings and Guided Adventure Tours.
