Totally Renewable Phillip Island (TRPI) is hosting a free community information session to help you find out everything you need to know about installing a home battery.

The event, at the Phillip Island RSL in Cowes, on Saturday June 14 from 10am to 2pm, aims to provide "easy-to-understand" advice for households looking to reduce their energy bills and gain energy independence.

"The session will explore the different types of batteries, safety considerations, how batteries work with or without solar panels, and what rebates or subsidies may be available to households," TRPI spokesperson Garry Busowsky said

To give a practical perspective, two local solar and battery installers will speak about their services and display equipment.

The session is free, however bookings are essential.
