Fashion for a cause
The Phillip Island VIEW Club recently held a fundraising event at Chatters on Cowes.
The Phillip Island VIEW Club (Vision, Interest, Education of Women) recently held a fundraising event at Chatters on Cowes Thompson Avenue Cowes, raising $976.
The lunch time function, “Fashions for Fundraising”, helped raise much needed funds to assist the club with the sponsorship of five disadvantaged children, through the Smith Family Learning for Life Program.
There were raffles, door prizes, sparkling wine and soft drink and members and their friends were treated to a fantastic lunch of finger food both savoury and sweet (supplied by committee members).
The change rooms were in constant use as attendees were actively involved in some retail therapy where they tried on and modelled their purchases.
All in all, a wonderful few hours was spent with friends
“Chatters on Cowes is a leading women’s clothing and accessories retail opportunity featuring quality, elegance and style at affordable prices,” said a club spokesperson.
“Our thanks to Jane the owner, for once again supporting the Phillip Island VIEW Club.”
VIEW members across the country support the education of disadvantaged Australian children by raising much needed funds for The Smith Family through the Learning for Live program.
Learning for Life sponsorship assists families in need to afford a child’s education essentials such as uniforms, shoes and stationery.
Sponsored students are also connected with The Smith Family Learning for Life Coordinator who supports them to stay engaged with their learning and links them to educational and mentoring programs that give students the support and tools they need to stay in school and break the cycle of disadvantage.
The Phillip Island VIEW Club meets the fourth Monday of the month 11am for 11.30am start at the San Remo Hotel, at 145 Marine Parade. For further information on the Phillip Island VIEW Club, please contact club President Chris on 0406 469 824.
