Music at the FOCIS bush dance fundraiser on November 5 at Churchill Island will be provided by Blackberry Jam Bush Band.

A bush dance in November will raise funds to support the ongoing work of the Friends of Churchill Island Society Inc (FOCIS).

The group has operated since 1980, working in a voluntary capacity to help with the maintenance and improvement of Churchill Island as well as enhancing the visitors' enjoyment and historical knowledge of the island.

Churchill Island recently acquired a Clydesdale horse called Charlie who will be giving visitors horse and cart rides around the Island.

FOCIS said funds raised by the bush dance will allow it to support similar future investments.

The bush dance will be held on November 5 at the Shearing Shed on Churchill Island, from 3.30pm until 6.30pm (the venue must be vacated by 7pm).

Gates open at 3pm.

Music will be provided by Blackberry Jam Bush Band who are well renowned for their lively, entertaining and fun Bush Dances.

 There will also be dance calling to help with your enjoyment of the afternoon. with the possibility of an appearance by Emily the Emu, didgeridoo and saw playing,  a FOCIS spokesperson said.

This is a family friendly evening and is an alcohol free and BYO event.

Bring along your favourite snacks or picnic. You will also be able to buy food and drinks at the Churchill Island caf  until 4pm.

Tickets are available online until 12am on November 4.

Tickets are $35 for Adults (16 and over). Concessions $28.

There are two family packages available.

Family ticket-1   $45 (one adult, plus children 15 and under). Family ticket-2   $80 (Two adults, plus children 15 and under).
