A gripping battle – just falling short
The U17 netballers entered the Grand Final as underdogs
The U17 netballers entered the Grand Final as underdogs, having finished the season in 3rd place.
They fought their way through a tough finals series, including a nail-biting win in extra time to secure their spot in the decider.
The Grand Final itself was just as tense, with the lead changing hands each quarter. The girls held a four-goal buffer heading into the last break, but in a gripping final term the margin swung back and forth until they were edged out by just two goals.

It was a gallant performance, and the team should be immensely proud of their efforts. Importantly, the entire side is made up mostly of bottom-age players, giving them every chance to push for another Grand
Final appearance – and hopefully go one better – next year.
