Areas include Road Safety, Sport and Recreation, Youth, Libraries, Agriculture and the Creative Sectors.

“These grants provide a range of opportunities for local community groups, clubs, organisations, creatives and industries to support them to achieve their goals across a number of streams and programs,” Ms Crugnale said.

“I encourage everyone to glean through them, and as always reach out to my office for a letter of support or further assistance if you need.”

Local Councils, Water Authorities, Private Companies also administer community grants for their respective areas and focus.

A snap shot of current State grants include:

Community Road Safety Grants: Victorian councils, schools and not-for-profit organisations can now apply for the 2024/25 program to help local communities deliver much needed road safety interventions to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads.
Living Libraries Infrastructure Program: Applications have opened for the government’s $2.2 million program to improve libraries across Victoria supporting local libraries to deliver more programs and spaces, upgrade facilities and provide mobile library vans.
Youth Fest Grants: Local governments, community organisations and schools can apply for grants of up to $2,000 to fund events across the state during Victorian Youth Fest in September 2024.
Enabling Tourism Fund: supporting regional and rural Victorian tourism projects to reach investment-ready status by funding planning activities such as feasibility studies and design for future investment.
Distillery Door Program: Seeks to enhance the Distillery industry with four available streams: Skills Development, Boosting the Visitor Economy, Infrastructure and Safety and Export Capability.
The TAC Road Safety Grant Program: designed to support community groups and organisations to develop and implement effective community-based road safety projects.
Sporting Club Grants Program: for uniforms, equipment and resources that improve accessibility and engagement; support for athlete travel, strengthening volunteering, and new sport or recreation programs.
Sport and Recreation Victoria also have funding including the new Youth Aquatic Accreditation Program to financially assist young people aged 16 to 25 years to undertake accreditation to ensure they are qualified to teach swimming and water safety. Other streams include: Emergency Sporting Equipment, Significant Sports Events, Regional Sporting Infrastructure and more.
Creative Industries has a funding calendar of opportunities which are currently under review and an e-newsletter to subscribe to so as not to miss out.

Ms Crugnale said the website is a one stop place to find out more and the refine search function tailors to ones organisations type, program and grant topic and grant status.

She said other organisations, including local councils also offered community grants.

Telstra: Connected Communities Grant program up to $10,000 available to not-for-profits in regional and rural Australia that provide access to information, technology, education and facilities for the purpose of building both social capital and digital capability.
