Bass Coast Shire Council is calling for community feedback on its Draft Asset Plan.

If you’re unhappy with the way public assets, such as roads, transport, parks, buildings, facilities, open spaces and drainage are being managed by the council, this is your chance to have a say.

The Plan identifies the infrastructure assets that Council owns or manages, and outlines how these assets will be managed in the long term.

Council said the Asset Plan considers how it plans to optimise life cycle costs of capital and maintenance across four major asset classes of roads and transport, buildings and facilities, open space and parks and stormwater drainage.

It also said long term infrastructure renewal funding is allocated in the plan to ensure that levels of service expected by the community can be sustained in the long term, by Council’s ability to maintain and renew its infrastructure.

Council said known challenges and emerging issues have been highlighted in the plan, which has been prepared as required by the Local Government Act 2020.

For more information on the Draft Asset Plan or to provide your feedback, visit www.engage.basscoast.vic.gov.au/assetplan. The engagement period closes on Tuesday, June7

The Final Asset Plan will be considered for adoption at the Council Meeting on Wednesday, June 15.
