The Hawthorn VFLW team took on the Casey Demons, followed by the clubs’ VFL teams competing.
It is the first time a game for competition points at this level has been played in Bass Coast and the event attracted several thousand spectators.
In the VFL, the Casey Demons came out on top, winning by 30 points. 16.10.106 to Box Hill Hawks’ 11.10.76.
The positions were reversed in the VFLW, with the Hawks winning 7.8.50 to the Demons 2.5.17.
The event on Sunday also included Auskick sessions and opportunities to hear from team coaches.
Grace Matser and Grace McRae were among the players who grew up in Bass Coast and learnt their footy skills here, along with Sunday Brisbane, Macie Gilmour and Max Walton.
