Bike Ed for adults
1 min read

The Phillip Island Bicycle User Group (BUG) is currently running a Bike Ed program for adults. The program is designed for adults who have not ridden before, or have not cycled for some time.

The program shows riders how to mount and dismount safely and easily, how to ride in a straight line, as well as how to use brakes and gears. Bike control skills of balance, steering, turns and negotiating hazards are to be covered also.

The program is run by BUG volunteers, who have up to two decades of assisting with Bike Ed in schools, and there are enough volunteers to ensure riders are able to progress at their own rate.

"Although the program has already commenced, new riders are welcome," a BUG spokesperson said.

"And we can keep the program going until riders feel competent to ride safely on footpaths, shared paths and on quiet roads, both individually or in a group."

The program operates on Friday mornings at the PICAL Garden carpark, Settlement Road Cowes.

To register, and for more information, contact Trevor, the BUG Secretary, on 0408 574 360.
