HMAS Cape Woolamai Freedom of Entry – A Proud Day for Phillip Island

The Phillip Island community is invited to witness the Freedom of Entry parade for HMAS Cape Woolamai as the ship's company marches through the streets of Cowes in a proud display of naval tradition.

Freedom of Entry is a historic military honour that symbolises the trust and respect between the Royal Australian Navy and the local community.

During the parade, sailors will march in ceremonial uniform with swords drawn, bayonets fixed and colours flying, accompanied by the Royal Australian Navy Band.

Come along and line the streets to show your support and help give HMAS Cape Woolamai a warm Phillip Island welcome as the ship celebrates 75 years of naval service.

Date: Friday 7 August 2026

Time: 11.00am – approximately 11.25am

Location: Cowes, Phillip Island

Parade Route: Cowes Jetty → Thompson Avenue → Berninneit Cultural Centre

Cost: Free

Morning Tea: An invitation-only morning tea will be hosted by the Phillip Island RSL in the ANZAC Room following the parade.
