Island and San Remo dominate the business awards
Congratulations to the 15 local businesses in this year’s list of finalists for the Bass Coast Business Awards.
Congratulations to the 15 businesses on Phillip Island and in San Remo in this year’s list of finalists for the Bass Coast Business Awards, and the People’s Choice awards.
Out of the 20 Business Award finalists, more than half are based on the island or in San Remo.
The trend was duplicated in the People’s Choice.
Island businesses excelled at access and inclusion, with all three finalists locally based.
In the People’s Choice Accommodation and Tourism category, all three finalists are island businesses.
Bass Strait Direct is a finalist in three categories, while Outback Chef, Wildlife Coast Cruises, Balance Health Phillip Island, Linen House Phillip Island and Connect2 Electrical are finalists in two categories.
Grantville’s Sunscape Solar is also a finalist in two categories.
Winners of Bass Coast Business Awards will be announced at a presentation dinner on Friday October 21 at Silverwater Resort.
Winners of the People’s Choice category will also be announced on the evening.
This year the community’s participation in voting for their favourite local businesses is some of the highest levels in the awards’ history with 1190 votes cast in the People’s Choice category.
There has also been an increase in the number of businesses applying for the Judged Categories. Bass Coast Shire Council thanked its co-sponsors Harman Wines, Westernport Water, Silverwater Resort, NBN Local – Gippsland and Destination Phillip Island for making these awards possible.
