Isle of Wight: what now?
Feedback on the Isle of Wight planning permit is sought by June 20. To make a submission go to basscoast.vic.gov.au/building-planning
  • Feedback on the planning permit is sought by June 20 (the minimum two weeks required by the Planning Act). However, council will continue to accept submissions up until it makes a decision
  • July/August – Review of submissions and assessment of the proposal
  • August/September/October 2023 – Council meeting for determination (subject to change, dependent on many factors)
  • According to developers Moda, they hope to start construction in late 2023 (subject to planning approval), with a grand opening in late 2025

To make a submission on the planning permit go to basscoast.vic.gov.au/building-planning or email basscoast@basscoast.vic.gov.au or post to the shire at PO Box 118, Wonthaggi VIC 3995, or drop in to one of the customer service centres including Cowes 154-156 Thompson Avenue.

A submission must be made in writing stating the reasons for the submission and stating how the writer would be affected by the granting of a permit.
