Lyn Yeowart, a writer whose journey from the outskirts of Drouin to national literary recognition, reminds us of the depth of talent quietly rooted in Gippsland.

Her debut novel, The Silent Listener, set in a fictional Gippsland town won the Indie Book Award for Best Debut Fiction in 2022.

A screen adaptation of the novel is currently underway.

Yeowart's second novel, The Hollow Girl, draws on the lived experiences of unmarried women subjected to forced adoptions.

Lana Johnson, a primary school teacher, author and mum of two, is the creative force behind Busy Little Bee Books.

Passionate about both education and well-being, at the heart of Lana's work lies a simple but powerful belief: every child's imagination is a superpower waiting to shine.

Her debut picture book, Archie the Amazing Axolotl, celebrates creativity, embraces difference, and shows that unique ways of thinking can be a true strength.
