The Island Story Gatherers, in collaboration with the Phillip Island RSL, are delighted to be hosting one of Australia's best-known authors, Roland Perry OAM for morning tea on May 5.
Roland began his writing career as a journalist on The Age Melbourne. He moved to England making documentary films, and he had his first book, Program for a Puppet, published in 1979.
It was an international best-seller that was translated into eight languages.
He has since published 42 books, sold more than two million copies, many of them bestsellers and award winners.
He has written books on military history, including Bill the Bastard, Horrie the War Dog, The Australian Light Horse, The Changi Brownlow, Monash & Chauvel, and Anzac Sniper.
He is also known for his books on cricket and cricketers, such as Don Bradman and Keith Miller, and other sportsmen. He has written about the secret services in Australia and the UK.
Not satisfied with non-fiction Roland has also written several novels.
The morning will provide the opportunity to meet Roland and listen to his engaging story of life as an author over a cup of tea.
