It's Prime Time
At training with the Bulldogs on Thursday evening. Tom Baulch (who brands himself as Prime Train) helped the island to its win over Warragul on the weekend, as well as attracting a huge number of supporters to the game.

Tom Baulch, also known as Prime Train, is a TikTok star with close to 300,000 followers on the app and over 100,000 on Instagram.

Baulch travels to different regional clubs as a "fly-in-fly-out" player, promoting the team (and the destination) and in the process attracting hundreds of his fans to come to the game.

More than just an impressive mullet, last weekend he played for Phillip Island (and kicked eight goals in the process), helping to secure the Seniors' win over Warragul.

And importantly for the Phillip Island Football Netball Club's coffers, contributed to what was a massive turn out for the first game of the 2024 season.

In a post on his Instagram page after training last week he said, "genuinely an electric atmosphere from the whole club, this weekend will be huge".

"Can't wait to see you guys all down at the new deck to cheer us on (or abuse me, idm either way as long as you pay entry)".

Football fans streamed onto the island on Saturday, making for some slow-moving traffic.

Many arrived early, keen to ensure they got a spot, with Brett Tessari, the Operations Manager of the West Gippsland League commenting that parking around the Cowes ground was half full by 6.30am Saturday morning.
