It's starting to feel like summer!
A 29-degree day saw keen surfers flocking to Woolamai to catch a wave.

With restrictions easing, the "ring of steel" disbanded and a stunning 29-degree day, it's not surprising the car parks at Woolamai's famous surf beach was busy this morning.

Locals and visitors took advantage of the waves and made the most of the sunshine, with local surfers reporting the car park at Anzacs was full at 6am.

Melbourne joined regional Victoria at Step Three in the roadmap to reopening at 11.59pm on November 8.

There's been a steady stream of visitors and holiday homeowners arriving since then, eager to get out of the city or to check on their holiday properties.

With Melbourne out of lockdown, local businesses are looking forward to a busy weekend.

Latest changes in restrictions

  • Indoor entertainment venues will be able to open with 20 people per space – movie theatres, galleries, museums and music halls will now be able to open.
  • The rules around visiting aged care and hospitals will also be relaxed. Instead of a specific number of visitors – a household will be able to visit together. Once per day and limited to two hours.
  • Those under 16 will also be able to visit hospitals and the time limit for partners visiting maternity wards will no longer exist. Please note individual hospitals and facilities may continue to have their own policies, reflecting the needs of their patients and whatever the virus might be doing in the community.
