Jaylynn’s running for Lifeline
Cowes resident Jaylynn Jacobsen is running a marathon on November 26, raising money to support Lifeline.
Jaylynn Jacobsen is getting ready to run.
The Cowes resident is running a marathon next month (November 26) at Mount Lilydale.
The Run for the Young Charity Fundraiser is now in its 10th year, but this is Jaylynn’s first every marathon.
She’s currently running about 50kms a week in training for the big event.
Jaylynn is hoping to raise $500 for Lifeline and is already past the halfway mark.
As well as raising much needed funds, she wants to raise awareness about mental health.
“I originally decided to do the marathon to get into shape, but wanted to do something good at the same time, by raising money for a charity,” she explained.
“I chose Lifeline as I believe it’s a valuable resource for people who may be struggling and need help.
“Mental health is such an important aspect of our overall health.
“I aim for people to be able to speak about mental health without the stigma.”
