Join Friends of Churchill Island

Friends of Churchill Island Society (FOCIS) is emerging from Covid hibernation and holding a meeting on Saturday, January 30 at 1.30pm at The Nobbies.

Anyone interested in joining the group is invited to come along. Afternoon tea will also be served.

Over the years, the group has worked tirelessly to improve and preserve the facilities on Churchill Island.

Projects have included working bees to clean up the historic houses and cottages on Churchill Island as well as the historic farm machinery, funding pavers and signage for the machinery shed and securing a grant to create a DVD about the island’s beloved Working Horses.

If you’re keen to find out more about Churchill Island, copies of “Churchill Island – History and Her Story” by Patricia Baird are available through FOCIS, by contacting the secretary.

If you are interested in helping in our activities and joining FOCIS – please contact the secretary, Leah Tempany by emailing secretary@focis.org.au, go to the FOCIS website: www.friendsofchurchillisland.org.au or visit the Facebook page for details.
