Playgrounds, skate parks, outdoor gyms, public barbeques and some toilet blocks have been closed due to the Stage 3 restrictions.

A draft plan for a skate park and playground in Kilcunda has been released by Bass Coast Shire Council.

The council is asking the community to provide feedback on the design, which involves the relocation and replacement of the existing playground and the development of a new local level skate facility.

Council said the proposed skate facility has been designed to provide a fun space that caters for beginners and younger children, while also including elements to challenge more advanced skaters.

The new playground will feature a large slide, sensory play which will include a dry creek, a spinner and swings. These facilities are designed to connect to the Bass Coast Rail Trail and nearby public amenities.

Feedback is open until September 12.

The plan was developed in collaboration with the Kilcunda Community Development Association and local residents.

Submissions can be made in writing to Ella Angarane, Recreation and Open Space Planner via email recreation@basscoast.vic.gov.au or in the post to PO Box 118, Wonthaggi 3995.
