Making the world a better place for children

Island Story Gatherers will partner with the To Be Loved Foundation for a special film and discussion on Sunday, June 19 at St John’s Uniting Church in Cowes.

The event will start at 2pm and tickets are $10 and available through the trybooking website.

Join Darren Mort BSc, LLB, who will discuss his work as a barrister and his To Be Loved Foundation, supporting children and young adults through their journey of family breakdown via the Family Court.

The award-winning film “Tommy” will be shown, and a panel of legal experts will demonstrate Court procedures and explain how they can improve the experience for children and young adults.

Representatives from community groups supporting families locally will also be present. In addition to his many achievements in law and the arts, Darren has also written a picture book, which will be for sale through the Turn the Page bookshop.

Afternoon tea will be provided.

The event was original scheduled for April, but had to be rescheduled after one of the legal team tested positive for Covid.

Sunday, June 19, at St John’s Uniting Church. Tickets: $10 through Trybooking: www.trybooking.com/BZPCG.
