As Covid case numbers continue to grow, the state government has announced a new round of restrictions.

Masks must be worn indoors by everyone aged eight and over, and must be carried at all times. They are strongly recommended outdoors when you can’t physically distance.

Masks are also required on public transport, taxis/ride share, planes and visiting hospitals or care facilities.

Last week (January 12), indoor dance floors within hospitality and entertainment venues closed.

The government is again recommending people work or study from home if possible.

Workers in key sectors who are already required to be fully vaccinated must get their third dose before being permitted to work onsite. This applies to healthcare, aged care, disability services, emergency services, correctional facilities, quarantine accommodation and food distribution.

Workers eligible for a third dose on or before January 12 have until February 12 to receive it.

Other changes include an exemption from isolation for manufacturing, distribution and packaging workers (including retail supermarket workers) so they can return to work if:
* Asymptomatic
* Undertake daily rapid antigen tests for five days
* Return a negative result prior to attending work

Density quotients in cafes, restaurants, pubs, wineries, bars and fast-food outlets is now one person per two square metres for indoor spaces.

Venues must have a CovidSafe plan, including a check-in marshal and customers over the age of 18 must show their vaccination status. Workers must be fully vaccinated.
