Monster museum sale

History is on the move.

The building that houses the library and the Museum is due for demolition next month, and the Phillip Island and District Historical Society volunteers are frantically packing up the collection in preparation for the move.
While the collection itself will go into storage until its home in the new Cowes Cultural Centre is ready, there are many items that will not be needed in the new custom-designed space.

As a result, the Historical Society is holding a monster sale on Saturday October 2 and Sunday October 3, selling off storage and display units, shelving and other items.

While some fixtures have already been donated to other local organisations, there will still be plenty to entice anyone with a keen eye for a bargain.

The sale will run from 10am – 4pm at the Museum. More details in next week’s paper.
