Last year saw Phillip Island host the inaugural Mother's Day Classic, with 50 people taking part.
This year organisers are hoping to more than double that figure.
"Last year was arranged at the last minute," admitted event host, Donna Boucher, who gathered together a team of organisers - Annie Hawley, Kaz Anderson and Chris Walton - to help pull things together.
"This year, we're anticipating between 100-150 attendees on the day."
The Mother's Day Classic 2026 will comprise of either a 2.5km (one way) or 5km return run/walk from Berrys Beach to Pyramid Rock.
The event will commence at 9am on Sunday May 10, with registrations on the day commencing at 8am.
"We are very excited with the response and registrations received so far and look forward to seeing so many runners/walkers take part."
The event is being supported by Phillip Island and San Remo Rotary, Bendigo Community Bank and Westernport Water.
Donna said on the day there will also be raffles and prizes.
"Rotary will cook up a storm with a sausage sizzle, and produce has been kindly donated by Rotary, Baker's Delight and Woolworths."
Raffle and prizes have been kindly and very generously donated by: Phillip Island Hotel, Endota Spa, Her Day Spa, Turn the Page Bookshop, First Aid Management and Training Centre, Lottie Hairdressing, Island Sports Clinic Myotherapist Yumiko Murakami, Biscotti Café, Mon Dieu Café, Flowers of Phillip Island, G'Day Tiger and Coles.
The Mother's Day Classic raises funds for breast and ovarian cancer research.
