The National Vietnam Veterans Museum was delighted to welcome Dr David Bradford on a recent visit to Phillip Island.
Dr Bradford, now retired, served as an army doctor in Vietnam 1967–68.
Dr Bradford spent much of his service alongside the gunners of 4th Field Regiment, two members of which are regular volunteers at the Museum. There was lots of reminiscing and plenty of laughter as the three became reacquainted over coffee at the Nui Dat Café and then veterans Peter Stainthorpe and Len Curd took Dr Bradford on a highly personalised tour of the museum.
Since his Vietnam experience, Dr Bradford has had a highly celebrated career as a specialist in the area of sexual health. He has published two books, “The Gunners’ Doctor: Vietnam Letters” and “Tell Me I’m Okay: A Doctor’s Story”. David, who speaks openly about his personal journey as a gay man, will be a guest speaker at the museum next year.
Stay tuned for more information in the new year.
