Bass Coast Shire Council has appointed Stabilised Pavement Australia (SPA) Pty Ltd to undertake renewal works on the Newhaven Visitor Information Centre carpark.

The works, which started mid-May, are expected to take up to six weeks to complete, depending on the weather.

Council said the aim of this project is to ensure the off-street carparks are safe and sustainable for the community into the future and appropriate levels of service are maintained.

The total project cost is in the order of $434,000 which is funded by Council’s Capital Works Program.

Work includes some underground stormwater drainage and kerb renewal works, stabilise the existing pavement and overlay with new crushed rock, new asphalt sealed carpark, signage, and line marking.

Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be implemented onsite during these works.
