Chisholm expands training options in Wonthaggi
1 min read

Chisholm Institute is offering on-campus and online training in the Wonthaggi region to support local workforce development and create career opportunities, particularly in areas where skills are in high demand.

In collaboration with local industry and community organisations, Chisholm is offering qualifications that align with the specific needs of the region. Courses focus on key sectors including health, education, training and assessment, and accounting and bookkeeping.

Starting in July 2025, five free TAFE courses will be delivered at Chisholm's Wonthaggi campus. This includes:

  • Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121)
  • Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (FNS40222)
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40122)
  • Certificate IV School-based Education Support (CHC40221)
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021) Ageing and Disability

"Chisholm is committed to providing affordable access to high-quality education. We are proud to offer training that not only addresses critical workforce gaps but also highlights the TAFE sector's ongoing commitment to the Wonthaggi region," said Chisholm CEO, Stephen Varty.

Chisholm is also partnering with the Victorian Government and TAFE Gippsland to explore long-term solutions for education and training opportunities in the local community, a partnership welcomed by Member for Bass, Jordan Crugnale.

"We're delivering the skills that Wonthaggi and the Bass Coast region need, with a selection of new Free TAFE courses now enrolling at Chisholm's Wonthaggi campus for 2025," said Ms Crugnale.

"Free TAFE has already saved 50,000 people across regional Victoria an average of $3000 each since 2019 - and now our local community will have the opportunity to train for jobs in high-demand areas like health, education, and accounting.

"These new courses will help people build careers without having to leave the community they love. This is all part of the government's efforts to make sure every Victorian can access affordable, high-quality training close to home."

Enrolments are now open for courses starting in July this year.
