1 min read

The Arts Society Phillip Island Region will hold their Annual Easter Exhibition at Newhaven College in the spacious foyer of the Performing Arts Centre.

This much anticipated event will showcase the varied works of ASPIR members across all ages and is open daily from Friday March 29 through to Monday April 1.

The judge is Mike Kowalski, an internationally acclaimed artist, who was born and raised in California. Mike now draws inspiration from the natural surroundings of Shoreham and the cityscapes of Melbourne.

On Thursday evening from 7pm Mike will be announcing the award winners. All are welcome to join in the celebrations at Newhaven College.

The Bendigo Community Banks of Cowes, San Remo and Grantville are a major sponsor with the Best in Show Award of $1000 and three Highly Commended Awards.

Other sponsors include Phillip Island RSL, Westernport Water, Clay and Co, Chemmart Cowes, Turn the Page, Your Pet in Pastels, and Senior Art Supplies.

Westernport Water, through their Community Support Program, have created a Sustainable Future Award. This gives our artists the opportunity to illustrate, to challenge and engage the viewer with the issues that confront our community.

Clay and Co is offering a week's solo exhibition to an artist based on the Body of Work as exhibited.

"This is an exciting initiative which will greatly assist the artist on their creative journey," said ASPIR president Miranda Sage.

"We at ASPIR commend all these sponsors to you as their support makes all the difference and ensures a successful event."

As all works are for sale it is an opportunity to acquire a wonderful piece to take home and enjoy.
