The team at Phillip Island RSL has claimed the coveted Best Regional Club Bistro-Restaurant award at the 2025 Community Clubs Victoria (CCV) Awards.
The gala dinner and awards night on Saturday July 5 at the RACV City Club in Melbourne, saw more than 1000 licensed clubs come together from across Victoria.
The Phillip Island RSL's win was applauded by CCV Chief Executive Andrew Lloyd.
"This well-deserved recognition highlights their leadership within both the industry and the broader community. At a time when many clubs face operational challenges, it's more important than ever to celebrate those making a positive impact."
General Manager Chris Simpson described the win as a celebration of people, purpose, and place.
"We're more than just a venue – we're part of the fabric of Phillip Island life," Chris said.
"This award recognises the dedication of our team, the warmth of our service, and the pride we take in delivering consistent, quality experiences to locals and visitors alike."
Chris said the redevelopment of the club's kitchen was a turning point – giving the team "the platform they needed to truly innovate and shine".
"We've worked hard to evolve our menu, embrace fresh local ingredients, and create a space that brings people together.
"We aim for every guest to feel at home, whether they're a loyal member grabbing a weeknight meal or a holidaymaker celebrating a special occasion. It's this sense of welcome that defines who we are."

At the heart of this achievement is Senior Executive Chef Brent Mills and his brigade of talented professional and apprentice chefs, whose passion has helped transform the bistro into a Victorian award-winner.
"This award is a proud moment for our kitchen team and our community – it's a tribute to our collective hard work, passion and teamwork," said Chef Mills.
"As Senior Executive Chef, I'm honoured to see our regional bistro recognised at this level. It's a win for us all.
"We're incredibly privileged to work alongside such wonderful local suppliers and to showcase the richness of regional produce right here on Phillip Island and the Bass Coast.
"Every dish that leaves our kitchen is the result of strong relationships – from paddock to plate – and the unwavering support of our community, loyal members, and visiting guests is deeply appreciated.
"I'm both excited and motivated for where we're headed."
Chris Simpson described the win as one for the team, "who go above and beyond", and for local producers and the community.
"It validates our commitment to doing things the right way – with care, integrity, and a strong sense of community."
From seasonal seafood platters and hearty winter warmers to family favourites and plant-forward options, the Phillip Island RSL continues to serve up more than just great food – it serves up connection, tradition, and a shared love for the region.
"We're proud to be here on Phillip Island, doing what we love, for the people we care about," Simpson said.
"This award reminds us that we're on the right path – and the best is yet to come."
With the win firmly under their apron strings, the Phillip Island RSL continues to inspire as a true.
