October winner – garden of the month
The Rhyll Community Association presented the October Garden of the Month to well-known Islanders Brian and Gwenda Arnold
The Rhyll Community Association presented the October Garden of the Month to well-known Islanders Brian and Gwenda Arnold at 35 Beach Road Rhyll.
Brian and Gwenda's garden was praised for its beautifully maintained and immaculate presentation, which won from a total of 11 nominated houses.
“The variety of plants and the clever use of succulents highlights how colour can be successfully incorporated into beachfront gardens,” said the judges.
Brian and Gwenda receive a $50 voucher from BlueGum garden supplies plus the kudos of proudly displaying their Garden of the Month sign.
Brian and Gwenda will now be invited to become judges for the November Garden of the Month, the last award for this year.
The Rhyll Garden of the Month is the initiative of the Rhyll Community Association and their hope is to inspire other towns and community groups to launch a similar activity in their respective areas. This could lead to a Phillip Island Garden of the Month award.
